Three ways to hire, what each includes, and how to tell which one your event actually needs. Written for organisers who want to compare quotes properly rather than by the bottom line.
| Option | What you get | Who it suits | What can go wrong |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dry hire | Kit only, collected from us or delivered to the door. You set up, run and pack down. | Experienced in-house teams, DJs who know the equipment, recurring internal events. | Nobody on site knows the desk when the microphone drops out at 8 pm. |
| Delivered and set up | We deliver, install, test and hand over with a briefing, then collect after. | Parties and small events with someone confident enough to press play. | A changing running order with nobody to change the lighting states. |
| Crewed hire | Kit plus a technician or operator for the event, and the full production route beyond that. | Anything with speeches, a band, a reveal, or a client in the room. | Costs more on paper; usually cheaper than a failed event. |

Our listed rate is per 24-hour period for the equipment itself. Delivery, setup and strike, consumables such as haze fluid and gaffer, and technician time are quoted as separate lines so you can see exactly where the money is. Weekend and multi-day hires are usually priced as one and a half to two days rather than per calendar day. Every quote names the specific models, because a "PA system" line tells you nothing about whether it will fill a 300-person marquee.
Send the date, venue, guest count and what the event is for, and we will quote within a working day. If a DJ or band has sent a technical rider, forward it exactly as received; we match riders line by line and tell you where a substitution is sensible. For weddings and parties the packages cover the common combinations so you are not building a list from scratch.

The honest test for dry hire: if the person running the kit on the night has done it before and would be comfortable troubleshooting a silent PA in front of 150 guests, dry hire is fine. If not, add a technician. See dry hire versus full production for the longer version.
Yes for dry hire, by arrangement, from our base near Farnborough on the Surrey and Hampshire border. Most London and Home Counties customers choose delivery because it includes a tested setup and a handover briefing.
Two weeks is comfortable for standard kit; peak Saturdays in June, September and December go earlier. Large d&b systems, LED walls and specific Pioneer DJ models are the items that sell out first.
Both. Private customers hiring for parties and weddings are a large part of our work; the deposit and insurance rules above apply the same way.
On crewed hires we carry spares and swap on the spot. On dry and delivered hires we give you a phone number that is answered on event nights, and we can usually get a replacement to London or Surrey within a couple of hours.
